Wonder Woman Re-design

So there's been some hubbub of late regarding Wonder Woman's new, updated look and posted his own pretty awesome take on the character. I thought a bit about trying to come up with my own version and then I was sketching this: [link] and once I put the hair on her I realized it was looking kinda Wonder Womanish so I threw a costume and some color on it.

I don't know a whole hell of a lot about WW, so this is really more my own fantasy of what a super-heroine/Amazon princess should look like with cues taken from WW's traditional design. It's not much of an update like the new Jim Lee design is, but then I'm of the opinion that the classics like Wonder Woman shouldn't be taken too far away from their mythic roots. They shouldn't be made to look "normal" or blend in and be fashionable. They're super-heroes. To the average man and woman they're almost like gods walking the earth(more literally so in WW's case). When gods comes down to earth they do not concern themselves with mortal fashions. Anyway how is a 6 and a half foot Amazon with Double-D cups gonna blend in anywhere?

So I tried to emphasize the exotic, Mediterranean princess angle, with the darker skin, and gave her much bigger muscles then you'd probably ever see on her in the actual comics. Also she's got craggy man-hands which is partly just because I like how they look and partly because my version of WW would be a practitioner of pankration and not averse to strangling the fuck out of people. I just gave her some simple strap thingies around her feet and shins because I like 'em and they're easy to draw, and I think if I was nigh-invulnerable and therefore immune to such hazards as hot asphalt, broken glass and crack needles, I'd probably walk around barefoot.
